ABOUT MY PRACTICE
Hi! I'm Erin, and I, probably quite obviously, really love yoga. I first practiced yoga when I was six with my mum and brother, and although I don’t remember much of it, I remember being particularly good at making myself all cosy and comfortable in savasana!
I came back to yoga at my local gym at thirteen to help with some mental health issues I was experiencing. I fell in love with it straight away - the class moved and flowed, connecting with the breath, and helped me to feel calm and happier with myself. My practice soon became a daily one, and I knew that as soon as I turned sixteen I would become a yoga teacher.
A few years later, teaching yoga is even better than I thought it would be. I love my classes to be a chance to wiggle and dance your way through and hopefully be able to take that feeling of peace and loving yourself for who and where you are now off the mat and into your daily life.
I aim to bring fluidity, grace and a sense of lightness into my classes as we play around with the strength and softness of yoga.
Throughout the practice we can find freedom, joy, and balance both on and off the mat.
I embarked on my 200 hour vinyasa flow teacher training at Wellbeing Warehouse in 2015, 50 hour yin yoga teacher training with Sarah Lo at Whitespace, 15 hour extra vinyasa flow training at Whitespace, 15hr vinyasa sequencing at Camyoga and 40hr Pregnancy Yoga at Camyoga .

WHAT STYLE OF YOGA IS BEST FOR ME?
I know all of these different names and styles of yoga can be a little confusing so I've put together just a few lines of what you can expect from the different styles of class...
Vinyasa flow yoga is a style of yoga where you flow between movements, finding a fluidity between the body and breath. These classes will include a whole variety of asanas (yoga postures), with no set sequence - we flow through intelligently sequenced creative flows to feel empowered, playful, peaceful, strong and joyful. The word ‘vinyasa’ comes from the Sanskirt word ‘nyasa’ meaning to ‘place in a special way’ - we can translate this into this idea that through the practice we move the body with such care and mindfulness that the practice whether it’s gentle and soft or sweaty and strong, becomes an act of self love. Expect some dynamic, challenging, sometimes sweaty flows to empower your body and free your mind!
Yin yoga is a very restoring, passive style of yoga, where we hold supported asanas for 2-10 minutes, using bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps. I believe yin can teach us so much about mindfulness, finding comfort in the discomfort, letting go, and so much more. We never give ourselves time to just sit back, and not do but instead BE. Be in a pose, breathe into it and ask nothing of your body other than to let go (sometimes much easier said than done when you've been in pigen pose for 5 minutes ). This is the perfect class to let go of the week, ready and open for the weekend!
Mellow flow is a class designed for those who crave a more restorative style of flow yoga, perfect for beginners, anyone in the healing process of an injury, or anyone who just needs a bit of chill time! We take the class slow, staying lower to the earth as we practice more grounding sequences helping you to relax and let go of the week, ready to start the weekend off calm and peaceful.
WEEKEND WIND DOWN
A deliciously releasing practice, combining yin asanas to release connective tissue tightness, restorative asanas to shift into our rest and digest state of being, meditation to unwind, pranayama (breath control) to ease. The perfect way to release the week...
A class rooted in the traditional Ashtanga yoga practice. Ashtanga is one of the fundamentals of a vinyasa practice and has 5 'series' of set asanas. In this class we will being with sun salutations, moving onto the standing sequence and then work on a couple of asanas from the primary and secondary series on different weeks. This class will certainly build up a lot of tapas (not the delicious type of tapas, unfortunately) - this internal fire and heat to burn away what no longer serves you. Create physical and mental strength, resilience and tapas through this practice.
Drop me a message if you're interested in any of my classes, events or 1-1's. I would love to see you on the mat soon!
